A Aria Banquet Hall Wedding

Satarra and Kenny were married on August 31st, 2017 at the BEAUTIFUL Aria Banquet Hall in Prospect, Connecticut. You read that right, CONNECTICUT Y’ALL!!!

Normally I would link to an engagement session in this paragraph and talk all about how much I loved meeting this couple and working with them, but this was a rather unique turn of events for this particular wedding. I actually had NEVER met these two until I showed up on their wedding day!!! How fun?! But also, a little nerve racking to say the least.

You see, my sister, Ashley, is in the Air Force stationed in Clovis, New Mexico. You’ve probably already guessed it, but Satarra is TOO and they work together!!! To make a long story short, a conversation between her and my sister was had. She contacted me and next thing I know, I was booking a flight to Connecticut to photograph their beautiful and so very classic black and white wedding!!!

Almost as soon as I talked to Satarra over the phone about her timeline, I just KNEW we would get along! Well, I was right. I walked in to meeting her at the salon. She greeted me with the BIGGEST hug, and it was like instant we had been friends for a lifetime. So caring. So sweet. SO BUBBLY, but also likes to keep things serious and in order too. You guys already know, that’s like my thing! But as if that wasn’t already amazing enough, meeting the rest of her family, friends, and then seeing her with her man, Kenny…OH MY!!! What a BLESSING it was!!! I seriously just feel so lucky that somehow the stars aligned and I got to meet them AND photograph their OH SO GORGEOUS WEDDING. Still over here pinching myself.

Their Love Story

When and where did you both meet?

Military, work, he flew on the planes I was a mechanic on.

When did you know he was the one and vice versa?

After his second deployment (first deployment with me) we decided that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

What’s the one thing you both love each other the most for?

Satarra: I love how humble and kind he is.

Kenny: She’s the kindest person I know

How did he propose?

He took me to the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. We went hiking through the waterfalls all day and then he proposed at night on a bridge. There were beautiful lit fountains surrounding us. It was breathtaking!
