Daryl + Arciel

Cross + Main Wedding – Youngsville, NC

Daryl and Arciel were married on May 27th, 2018 at the oh so precious Cross + Main wedding venue in Youngsville, NC.

I have to tell you! This wedding was one that was such a relaxing and *calm* day all the way around. I can’t speak volumes enough about how that is also exactly how Daryl and Arciel are themselves as well. During their engagement session (you can find that here), it was very apparent to me how much these two were SUCH a joy to be around and how much they love each other.

As soon as I got to the venue I was met by the venue manager, Katie, of Cross + Main and the planner Daryl hired, Aneesa, from Harmony Weddings and Events. These two ladies were an INSTANT success with me! Ladies that love to serve, and went above and beyond all day for Daryl and Arciel. Oh, it was just such a good team to be a part of, not to mention the gorgeous florals from Event Flouret! My little photographer heart was bursting!

As the day moved along, Daryl and Arciel met for their first look. It was GOLD. It was so much fun to be a part of this, because I knew it would be golden, and it was that and more. Before we knew it, these two were walking back down the aisle as HUSBAND AND WIFE, well, just after quite a few *happy* tears from Arciel’s sweet reading he read from his heart to Daryl. *SWOON* soooooo much love here you guys! It was also fun and a quick note to share, that Arciel is Russian, and we all got to hear his sweet mom speak in Russian as she read a poem to them during the reception. Oh the love here. I am telling you. SO. GOOD.

Their Love Story

When and where did you both meet?

We met in the Summer of 2015 on a dating website! In what some may say was a serendipitous set of circumstances, Daryl had recently updated her profile to include that she spoke Russian (very poorly), and at the same time, Arciel had decided to search for Russian speakers in the area. And voilà, Daryl’s profile appeared! After exchanging messages back and forth for a few weeks, we decided to make a date to meet for coffee. On the afternoon of our date, we ended up talking for hours and actually had to relocate to the Whole Foods nearby to finish our date, as we had outlasted past closing time of the coffee shop!

When did you know he was the one and vice versa?

Daryl: It was clear from early on that he was a very thoughtful, sweet, and caring person. After our first date, we continued to see each other several times every week, always enjoying the time we spent with one another. We meshed really well together, and I think we both just knew very quickly we were meant to share our lives with one another.

Arciel: It came naturally when I realized that I’m never getting enough of her presence and she was just falling into my life like a missing piece of a puzzle.

What is the one thing you both love each other the most for?

Daryl: I love him for so many reasons, one of them being his caring and loving nature. Even amidst the chaos of our lives, I always feel loved by him. By virtue of who he is as a person and his sweet nature, I feel eternally cared for and supported by him, without question.

Acriel: I love her for her patience with me, and willingness to follow all the crazy and imperfectly timed ideas that I am constantly coming up with.

How did he propose?

The day of the proposal, we had gotten up early to spend the day in Raleigh at the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure (we walked the 5K). After coming home and napping to recover from our early wake up call, we set out to one of our favorite restaurants in Raleigh for dinner. After enjoying a lot of delicious food, Arciel suggested we go for a walk to help settle out stomachs. Daryl honestly did not suspect anything at this time, as we were both full from dinner, and a walk sounded like a nice idea. After walking for a bit, Arciel found a spot with good lighting, and he decided is was the right place to get down his knee and propose. Arciel pulled out the ring box, but even before he opened it, Daryl gave him the answer without even looking at the ring :) Of course Daryl cried and said yes, making it what some would say what was a cliche moment, but still a very sweet one!
