Peaks of Otter Engagement Photos
AHHH!!! You guys!!! This day was NUTS meeting Andrea and Chris for the FIRST time was NUTS!!! What makes it even better is all the CRAZINESS that happened to make it happen!!! I can’t make this stuff up!!! We SPECIFICALLY planned this around the bus times for the Peaks so they wouldn’t have to hike the trail. I get there, and Andrea and Chris inform me that the bus wasn’t even running that particular day. You could imagine our disappointment.
I mean, the hike isn’t LONG but it is INCREDIBLY steep!!! Not something you really want to do taking your ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS!!! Thankfully they brought extra clothes. I did not. I hiked that puppy in JEANS AND LONG LEATHER BOOTS. I was DYING you guys. We were DRENCHED in sweat because for some reason October is feeling more like the middle of JULY. When we get to the part where you see the sign to either go 600 feet to Buzzard’s Roost or 1900ft to the top, we were POOPED! Not to mention, I am like 100% positive they are regretting their decision to hire me and they were just being nice to me, LOLOLOL!!!!
I had mentioned how beautiful the view was at Buzzard’s at the beginning of the trail head because of hikes Robert and I have taken before. So, we decided to do that route first and then continue to the top after giving us a break in between. We get to Buzzard’s. They brought two outfits. One was a sweater. We ditched that idea. Again, pouring sweat. They change into their dressier outfit. Andrea fixes up her makeup. We get on the rocks. Start shooting. ALL. THE. MAGIC. HAPPENS.
Everything falls into place. I ask Chris if he thinks they could get up to this spot across from our relatively easy spot to get to. He tests it. *THINKS* they can. They do it. The sun starts peeking through the clouds. This happens. And I am LITERALLY IN A FREAKING TREE THAT I CLIMBED TO TAKE IT LITERALLY FREAKING THE FREAK OUT AND THANKING GOD FOR ALL HIS GLORY. They come down. We collectively freak. And then walk back down the mountain in the DARK and OBVIOUSLY I rush home after to post sneak peeks and now here I am just feeling like God has the most beautiful plans that sometimes you can’t plan for. Did I mention it was also calling for rain, too? Yeah.
