A Mill at Fine Creek Wedding – Powhatan, Virginia

Maria and Andrew were married on June 1st, 2018 at the Mill at Fine Creek in Powhatan, Virginia and boy was it one to remember!

After meeting Maria and Andrew during their engagement session for the first time (you can find that here), I had I feeling I wouldn’t be able to wait until their wedding day itself. Sure enough, weeks leading up to June 1st, I was on edge so excited! Mostly because I just knew these two would be so much fun to photograph. Their mix between romantic shots that were SO easily created, all the way to the ones that made them belly laugh. SUCH. GOLD.

On the other hand, I was SO excited because I knew Maria had put SO much hard work into creating such a beautiful feel for the day along side Nicole from Stag & Lily! Who I had worked with previously, so I KNEW it was going to be a GORGEOUS day full of all the pretty details! Especially with flowers also done by my BFF Amanda Day Rose too. Guys. SWOON!!!

Mix all of that above in a pot with the most PRECIOUS wedding venue, and the gorgeous old ruins they said their vows in. In front of just about 65 guests, before we knew it, they were MARRIED and we were doing beautifully lit and oh so romantic portraits near the water. Such a GOOD day!

Their Love Story

When and where did you both meet?

First day of college! Been inseparable ever since :)

When did you know he was the one and vice versa?

It sounds cheesy but we just knew. And knew very early on. It was just a feeling for both of us.

What is the one thing you both love each other the most for?

He’s my rock; She’s my best friend and soulmate

How did he propose?

He re-created a special walk we took freshman year of college in 2007 on campus. He asked me to be his girlfriend in November but I didn’t remember the exact date! When I told him how people back home were asking what our anniversary was, I bragged about being a “cool girlfriend” because I didn’t know and he would never get in trouble for forgetting! Well, when I told him this, he looked at me on our walk and told me the date (November 26! I’ll never forget!). When he proposed, he took me to lunch near campus and asked if I wanted to take a walk afterwards. On our walk, in the exact spot where our anniversary conversation took place, he said “I hope you remember this date” (May 13! May 13!) and proposed.
