Marybeth + Brad

A Water’s Edge Country Club Wedding Celebration

Marybeth and Brad were married at Glade Hill Baptist Church on December 9th, 2017 and had their beautiful reception at the Water’s Edge Country Club.

First of all, you guys…these two!!! Marybeth may or may not have contacted me before she was engaged because, come on, women totally know when it’s coming, but have NO idea when it’s happening. So, she just wanted to make sure she knew what dates I had open justtttt in case it happened. Well, she was right! A couple months after her initial email, she was ENGAGED!!! YAY!!!

After their ADORABLE engagement session (you can find that here), and Marybeth’s bridal session at James Madison University (you can find that here), the wedding day was finally here! However, just days before the wedding itself…you would never guess what happened. The weather radar? Oh yeah, it was calling for…SNOW!!! Which, come on, snow on your wedding day in DECEMBER!? Could you ask for anything more beautiful!!! Well, that didn’t stop these two from getting married!

Thankfully by the grace of God, the roads were clear, and the wedding was on! Before we knew it, these two shared their vows and they were husband and wife! It was a winter wonderland dream come true! Especially their portraits. Oh you guys! Just out of this WORLD gorgeous!!!

Their Love Story

When and where did you both meet?

We met at a Super Bowl Party at Glade Hill Baptist Church. A friend brought Brad as a visitor to the church party. As children do, we played outside with our mutual friends until I (Marybeth) got in trouble. After my father reprimanded me, Brad consoled me. We stayed as only acquaintances through middle and high school. We drifted apart for many years and reunited in as adults, when the same friend who brought Brad to church asked if Brad could have my phone number.

When did you know he was the one and vice versa?

Marybeth: I knew Brad was the one when he had a gun accident and I got the most dreaded call. I have never had the most world shattering feeling than to think that someone I loved may never be the same again. Fortunately Brad’s injury was not life-threatening. I watched him fight to recover about five times faster than he was expected to out of his sheer determination. I have never felt more loved or appreciated, and I knew that from that moment on we would be inseparable.

Brad: I knew Marybeth was the one when one afternoon we were driving to her parent’s house, after I cracked a joke she just let out “I LOVE YOU”. And yes, she said it first.

What’s the one thing you both love each other the most for?

Marybeth: I love that Brad can make me laugh no matter what the situation may be.

Brad: I love how genuine Marybeth is and the unconditional love and support she gives me each and every day.

How did he propose?

Brad woke up very early on the day of a mutual friend’s wedding and told me to get ready, because we were going golfing before the wedding. He told me to go ahead and get fully ready for the wedding (make up and hair) in case we did not have time after golfing. Brad disappeared for a few hours before golfing. I later found out that he had left early that morning to ask my parents for their permission to ask me to marry him. Brad proposed at Willow Creek Country Club on hole number 7. He teed up the golf ball when it was time for me to hit, and the ball said “Marry me?”
