Meet Liz and Justin Long!
I’ve been with these two now through their engagement session and Liz’s GORGEOUS bridals. Needless to say I’ve gotten to know them both quite well! Funny enough, I knew them both in school too! Of course at separate times in my life, but it’s so interesting to think back to who they were as people then and now. Somehow it just all makes absolute sense that they are together. Truly, I can’t tell you how smiley and happy these two get when they are around one another. I mean, I guess I don’t have to tell you because these pictures say it all at their family farm wedding.
It is with absolute great honor and my pleasure to share with you their wedding on the blog today!!! There’s nothing quite like a family farm wedding in my book!!! I am sure most people that know me, know that I am a HUGE family person. So, when Liz told me she was having her wedding on the Wilkins Family Farm I was ECSTATIC!
Their wedding day was filled with lots of rustic love and DIY all over! You can’t go wrong with pink roses in gorgeous blue mason jars – that’s a fact!!! As the day built up to just minutes before their ceremony…dark clouds grazed over the skies. Of course everyone was worried and PRAYING that no storms would appear. As it turns out, it had to down pour just a little to give Justin and Liz the gift of a DOUBLE RAINBOW on their wedding day. Truly I tell you…totally a God thing to me. Liz’s AMAZING bridesmaids kept her laughing and smiling. Before you knew it, they were MARRIED!!!

When and where did you both meet?
Liz:
Justin and I were only a year apart in school- we both knew of each other in high school, but never truly met. We owe it all to Joe Tucker, a friend of Justin’s, and my job at Cluster Springs. Joe set us up while we were working together. Â
When did you know he was the one and vice versa?
Liz:
Family is so important to Justin and me. Both of our “moments” involve family acceptance, which we are both so fortunate to have on both sides.Â
I knew very soon after that when we went to my brother and his wife’s house to watch a football game. My brother has always been very important to me, and not always quick to warm up to people he doesn’t know- especially my boyfriends. Not long after we got there, they hit it off and went off together talking hunting and sports! I knew if he could win over the toughest critic he was something special. I told him I loved him that night!
Justin:
I knew I loved her when I took her to meet my family for the first time, which was actually on Thanksgiving. I remember watching her sing by the fire in my granddaddy’s back yard, with all of my family and just knowing.  She fit right in from the start!Â
What’s the one thing you both love each other the most for?
Liz:
Justin and I have the exact same sense of humor and can make a joke out of just about anything. We are fortunate enough to be able to make each other laugh uncontrollably! We both agreed that we love each other’s sense of humor most. There is never a dull moment and we keep each other happy with laughter everyday!Â
How did he propose?
Liz:
Justin proposed to me after a wine festival in Clarksville. He didn’t go with me, but while I was out, he was off that day asking my dad and brother for their permission to marry me. I got home that evening and met him in the kitchen. We had smalltalk for a good 10 minutes before he finally pointed out I hadn’t noticed anything around me. I had asked earlier in the day for him to wash the dishes, so I was quick to point out they still weren’t done! Haha! When I finally looked around, there were flowers on the floor leading to another room where the ring was. He led me to the box, got down on one knee, and proposed. When we were telling this story later, my mom asked what kind of flowers he laid down, and he said “You know, yard flowers,” aka dandelions, a weed known to anyone else but us now!
