A Mint Museum Wedding – Uptown, Charlotte
Emily and Michael were married on February 24th, 2018 at the oh so fun and full of gorgeous art, Mint Museum, in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina!
Fullllllll disclosure of the BEST kind DUH – Emily is my COUSIN!!! Well, kind of!!! Haha! She had no choice really, because I married HER cousin, Robert, of course! After years of seeing each other at family events, we were pretty cool with each other. Meaning, sending funny snapchats of our dogs to each other and all that jazz. You know, friendship at it’s finest! What was really cool though, is she told me very early on that I would basically be photographing her wedding one day and before we all knew it, Michael popped the question and they were ENGAGED (you can find their engagement photos here)!!!
Emily texted me almost immediately asking me about dates I had open for 2018. Again, just before our eyes, February 24th was the big day and boy did it feel like a blink of an eye with how fast it came! I am still over here just so giddy staring at these images knowing Emily and Michael are now MARRIED! Just the best you guys!!! It’s even extra sweet when it’s family, and you know just how much sweet love is surrounding them. Oh my heart!
Not only was my heart swooning over the fact that Emily asked me to photograph her big day, but the fact that Erica Stawick of Erica Stawick Events designed every little piece of the wedding day…let me tell you…she BLEW IT OUT OF THE WATER along side of all of the most incredible team of vendors!!! She seriously brought Emily and Michael’s vision to life and THEN some! It was just such a flawless day all the way around, and every single time I saw Emily and Michael looking at each other, they just seemed so at peace, so calm, and SO HAPPY!!! Seriously, I couldn’t be happier for you both and I can’t thank you enough for trusting in me to capture your big day guys. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Their Love Story
When and where did you both meet?
We met in college – but I definitely dreamed we started dating before we ever did, after I met him once.
When did you know he was the one and vice versa?
I don’t think we had a moment- we just made a good team and I just knew from the beginning of the relationship that we would continue to make a good team.
What’s the one thing you both love each other the most for?
Emily: I think we are both able to be 100% genuine and silly around each other. I love that, despite me being a very independent person, he is so supportive when I need him to be.
Michael: I love Emily the most for her kind & caring personality. I feel like I have always kind of known she was the one, there wasn’t really a defining moment. But also seeing how well she gets along with my big (crazy) family gave me confidence.
How did he propose?
With Cooper – DUH! I had been super sick all week and on Saturday he told me that he went and got Cooper a new tag (his had actually fallen off). When I walked over to check it out (because Cooper refused to move) – he had a pink heart tag that asked if I would marry his Daddy.
