A Cooper’s Landing Wedding – Clarksville, Virginia
Emily and Dylan were married on August 4th, 2018 at the sweetest and most precious wedding venue, Cooper’s Landing in Clarksville, Virginia.
When I think about Emily and Dylan…I think about how they have so many goals, ambitions, and how they faithfully follow the love they have for each other and support each other through and through. When we did their engagement session (you can find that here), I got to know them on a little bit more of a different level than normal, because we decided to carpool for two hours for their engagement photos. Naturally, we talked the ENTIRE time and now want to make that a requirement for all my couples, haha! Seriously though, it really was just SO fun getting to hear all about them and who they are. Just the best.
Before we all knew it, their wedding day was here. I knew there would be a lot of BIG feelings leading up to the ceremony. Primarily because these two chose not to do a first look, which is ALWAYS fine, I don’t ever expect my couples to, because it’s really THEIR choice to begin with, but…they DID opt to do a First Look No Peek which is ALWAYS a favorite! I always feel SO lucky in those moments. Especially with this moment with them, because I got to be listening ears over Dylan’s beautiful and so sound of a prayer for Emily and their marriage. GUYS I WAS CRYING BEHIND MY CAMERA.
As Emily made her way with her father down the aisle, Dylan couldn’t hold back his emotions and tears streamed from his face. I honestly in that moment felt like I could feel the pound of his heart beat as Emily got closer and closer. They shared their vows, they united in a sand ceremony. and then…they KISSED and sealed the deal as HUSBAND AND WIFE!!! AHHHH!!! I am seriously SO happy for you guys!!!
When and where did you both meet?
We met in June of 2015 through mutual friends, and knew from then it was meant to be!
When did you know he was the one and vice versa?
I think we both knew after the first date, and our love has grown so much since.
What is the one thing you both love each other the most for?
Emily: I love Dylan’s sense of humor especially. I can have an awful day and Dylan is always able to bring me up from that and make me forget everything for even just a moment. Another thing I love about him is his drive and motivation to always do better, he’s always thinking of ways to help others and he’s so kind hearted. He has never met a stranger! My most favorite thing about him is seeing when he gets excited about something, his eyes light up and he has the best smile. I melt every time!
Dylan: I love Emily most for her beautiful personality and the fact that she hasn’t changed how she treats me since we started dating. With her I’m able to have a smile on my face every day and can count on a good laughing session, without a doubt. We are three years into our relationship and I still get butterflies. Honestly, what’s there not to love about her?
How did he propose?
Dylan took me to the Riverwalk Trail in Danville on a date a few years ago, and took a picture of me with the fall leaves and it’s been his favorite picture since. He surprised me by going back there to “retake the picture” on such a pretty day, and proposed to me by the water. It was very special!
