Caitlyn + Chris

A Sorella Farms Wedding – Evington, Virginia

Caitlyn and Chris were married on November 10th, 2018 at Sorella Farms  in Evington, Virginia and it was to most PRECIOUS day you guys!

Let’s start by talking about how PERFECT these two literally are for each other! I have known Caitlyn since middle school now, so when I first met Chris at their engagement session (you can find that here), I was like…ok ok ok…THIS makes TOTAL sense. Like…I wish you guys could just *feel* the love radiating off of these two! My gosh. Literally made me on EDGE for their wedding day to get here.

I am not going to lie to you guys though, I didn’t think it was possible for Caitlyn to get even more beautiful than she already is, but during her bridal portraits (you can find those here)…I was proved SO wrong! All I could think, was…”Just WAIT until Chris sees here” and thus led us into to the wedding day itself.

While it may have been a brisk “Winter is Coming” cold outside, nothing made the day more warm than the friends and family that were there to surround these two with love. I tell you, so many beautiful moments, and I could seriously type like a book on how many, haha! But I won’t do that, because I just want you guys to scroll and see all the pretty and sweetness for yourself!

Their Love Story

When and where did you both meet?

We swiped right on each other in October of 2015 and then decided to officially meet in November of 2015. Our first date was on the Charlottesville Downtown Mall at a place called Zocalo.

When did you know he was the one and vice versa?

Chris: I knew Cait was the one when I found myself not wanting to wake up in the morning, exercise, and get my day started. I wanted to stay in bed and cuddle. I confirmed she was the one when I almost burned down our apartment complex the day we moved in together and she stuck by my side.

Cait: That thing about having a feeling and knowing someone is THE one? It’s totally true. I don’t think I can pinpoint an exact day, time or place, but more so just a feeling and it was extremely early on in our relationship. In fact, I brought him home to meet like 30 people on Thanksgiving just two weeks into dating. I won’t say I completely knew then, but it wasn’t long after. I just felt like he belonged.

What is the one thing you both love each other the most for?

Chris: I’ll answer your question with a question of my own – have you seen her booty? Jk, the list is too long but off the top of my head: the way she pronounces birthday birfday, the way she says she’s gonna punch me in the face the way she says just JK’ing the way she accepts my hugs the way she falls asleep next to me on the couch when I stay up late, rather than going to bed the way she looks at me with those beautiful blue whitewalker eyes the way she scrunches her nose at me.

Cait: I love his kind heart. Chris doesn’t know a stranger, constantly thinks of others, and ALWAYS gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. He makes me a better person.

How did he propose?

So I now know that he attempted to or thought of proposing a few times before he actually did. He picked out the ring in September 2017, but didn’t get to pick it up until early December. Over Christmas we flew out to see his sister and family in Denver. We were held up at security on our way out and almost missed the flight. When they started to pull out several items from his backpack, he insisted I go ahead to the terminal and hold the flight. Little did I know, he was really just trying to prevent me from seeing the ring! Flash forward two months (yes, he held on to it for that long), we decided to build a new home and take pictures on our lot putting a sold sticker up. He had the ring with him then, but decided it was too cold and muddy on the lot to get down on one knee. Two weeks later on a Wednesday in March we were both home from work on a snow day. He was busy studying for the CFA and I had just returned from the gym. I guess I was in a good mood from the work out and high on adrenaline, so I decided to get on the kitchen stools and start dancing and singing. Chris tells me he looked up from studying and decided he couldn’t wait any longer because he knew he wanted to marry me, so he put the ring in his pocket and came across the living room to me. I obviously had no idea (I was in sweat pants and looked like a hot mess) so when he came over I asked him to do the “dirty dancing lift” with me. SO RANDOM. After a few failed attempts, he got down on one knee. I seriously thought he was kidding… I told him to stop joking around and get up. Then he pulled out the ring and the rest is history.
