A Poplar Hill Wedding – Blackstone, Virginia

Katina and Nick were married on March 16, 2018 at the sweeeeeeeetest and oh so charming wedding venue, Poplar Hill in Blackstone, Virginia.

Gosh you guys! I feel like it was honestly just yesterday Katina was DMing me on Instagram with her love for me and my work. She would tell me all the time, “One day, you’re going to photograph my wedding day” and swoon over literally every single one of my weddings. Of course, I was always like “HECK YEAH I WILL PHOTOGRAPH YOUR WEDDING” because come on, Katina is literally THE sweetest and most uplifting person EVER! Not to mention, incredibly creative too (I will get more into that later)! When Nick finally popped the question, you better BELIEVE I was one of the first people to know!!!

Before we knew it, we were taking their engagement photos (you can find those here) and we were roaming the very venue that they would be getting married at just a few short months later. It was like…already flashing before our very eyes! Oh, I could not WAIT! As the days got closer, everything came together with ease. I tell you, this girl really knew what she wanted and she planned this wedding with so many gorgeous and meaningful details. From family heirlooms and homemade (BY THE BRIDE) jam favors, to delicate floral placements (by her own step-mother) and guys….they even a made-to-order hand-spun cotton candy station! I was in heavennnnnnnnn!

While, I was for sure in total photographer bliss over the entire day, the most special part was the ceremony to be completely honest. The farmer’s prayer that was read over them sent chills up my spine! I knew these two were meant for each other just from the way the interact (and the way they dance together on the dance floor), but after hearing that…it truly dawned on me just how special of a love these two have.

I am SO lucky I got to be a part of your day you guys!!! I am lucky to have had made friends in both of you, and Katina, you were just STUNNING my friend!!! Let’s replay this day at least 27 more times, please!
